David M. Anderson Quantitative Ecology and Evolution
I am currently a Postdoc in Dr. Mary O'Connor's lab at UBC, where I am researching the evolution of phytoplankton resource allocation strategies. This work is supported by the Simons Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship in Marine Microbial Ecology. Previously, I was a Postdoc in Dr. Colin Kremer's lab at UCLA. There, I studied the coupled dynamics of plastic phenotypic change and population dynamics in variable environments. I earned my PhD from the University of Florida, under the mentorship of Dr. Jamie Gillooly. For my dissertation research, I used allometric/metabolic scaling theory to better understand interspecific variation in life history traits and the "pace" of population dynamics. I describe my general interests and some specific projects over in the research page.
